Andre 3000 on Ke$ha’s “Sleazy” Remix is Like Methadone
I was talking about the movie Four Brothers last night, then heard John Legend’s “Green Light” for the first time in a couple days ago, end up singing “Hey Ya” while getting dressed this morning, and all of these things made me wonder: where is Andre 3000? To be fair, I wonder this about once a month, because dude is overdue for a new album. Big Boi’s dropped some records, but there’s really only so many times I can listen to The Love Below before I start to feel a little tired of — I can’t even finish this sentence, because that’s a lie. I can listen to The Love Below a million times and be satisfied, but I still want new music.
For now, what we have from earlier this month is a Ke$ha remix:
Sleazy (Remix) - Ke$ha feat. André 3000 by HDMI44
“Sleazy” is the track I like the least on her EP, Cannibal, but the beat knocks just enough. Now Andre 3000’s verse at the top gives it a new swagger, reminding me yet again that there’s a dearth of Ice Cold in my musical life, stagnating at a mediocre level of coolness, since we all know there’s only one thing cooler.
